Fresh (Documentary)

Fresh (Documentary) http://www.freshthemovie.com/ You'll never look at your food the same way! From Organic Nation TV

Food, Inc. isn't the only documentary about sustainable food that's currently screening. Fresh, directed by Ana Sofia Joanes, is currently screening at several theaters, coffee shops and other venues around the country, despite the fact that the film doesn't have a distributor yet.

Judging from the trailer alone, Fresh actually looks quite similar to Food, Inc., because it features interviews with Micheal Pollan and Joel Salatin from Polyface Farms, although it appears to have a more inspirational message about the growing sustainable food movement. It also looks like there will be some nice footage of Growing Power founder Will Allen.

An article in the Chicago Tribune this morning announced that the film is coming to the No Exit Cafe in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood on Tuesday, which Dorothee and I plan to attend. The filmmakers are asking audiences to support the film by hosting screenings themselves, and there's a resources page on the website for those would like to host a screening.

Here's a list of some of the bigger upcoming screenings:
June 26, 2009 – Cincinnati, OH
July 7, 2009 – Williamsburg, VA
July 9, 2009 – Eagle River, WI
July 11, 2009 – Sacramento, CA
July 12, 2009 – Urbana, IL
July 12, 2009 – Waterville, ME
July 19, 2009 – Waterville, ME
July 24th, 2009 – Orrtanna, PA
