Doubt...

I know I am extremely guilty of doubting what I know for certain God has told me....heavens, I have had so many instances that would shock the pants of you to tell you that it is not true, then so many miracles that have said, yes, it IS true....

I am guilty of doubt....

Here is an excellent write up from Ed ministries on doubts:

John's disciples told him about all these things. Calling two of them, he sent them to the Lord to ask, "Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?"Luke 7:18-19
You've probably faced it before; maybe you're facing it now. You're pretty sure you believe something; but then a situation or circumstance causes you to question that belief. That's doubt.
Doubt is often seen as the antithesis of faith. We convince ourselves that if there's one shred of doubt in our minds, then our faith is shattered. But doubt is not the opposite of faith. In fact, doubt can sometimes strengthen our faith—if we're willing to look deeper into what we believe.
You aren't the only one who has ever doubted what you believe. Even John the Baptist had doubt. But he investigated that doubt. He sought the truth. And he realized that if doubt is left unchecked, it can be damaging.
If you have doubts about your belief in Jesus Christ, don't let them go unchecked. Instead, look into what you believe and why you believe it. And as you investigate your doubts, you will begin to discover a new level of understanding and trust that ends up strengthening your faith.

Do you doubt? I do...I hate that I do, but I admit it and confess it....we are so blessed to have such a wonderful Father God who is patient and loving to us!

Read this wife's description of her beloved in Song of Solomon 5:10-16

Criticism leaves scar; encouragement can bring healing. Almost nothing is as devastating to a man as the belief that his wife finds him repulsive. Sadly, many women unwisely criticize their husbands' bodies.

Have you ever considered how wonderfully God designed men and women? No matter how a man looks by the standards of the world, a loving God designed them all, and they are all "beautiful" in His sight. Encourage your husband today by praising his uniqueness.

As you look over your husband's body, from the tip of his toes to his bald or bushy head, thank God that your husband is "wonderfully made," then admire your husband verbally.

(Strong arms? Hairy chest? Firm hands? Big feet? Rugged chin? Wide shoulders? Compassionate eyes? Broad smile?)

Song of Solomon 5:10-16 (The Message)

My dear lover glows with health—red-blooded, radiant!

He's one in a million.

There's no one quite like him!

My golden one, pure and untarnished, with raven black curls tumbling across his shoulders.

His eyes are like doves, soft and bright, but deep-set, brimming with meaning, like wells of water.

His face is rugged, his beard smells like sage,

His voice, his words, warm and reassuring.

Fine muscles ripple beneath his skin, quiet and beautiful.

His torso is the work of a sculptor, hard and smooth as ivory.

He stands tall, like a cedar, strong and deep-rooted,

A rugged mountain of a man, aromatic with wood and stone.

His words are kisses, his kisses words.

Everything about him delights me, thrills me through and through!

That's my lover, that's my man,

dear Jerusalem sisters.

Happy Memorial Day

Hi everyone!

Haven't had Internet time in the past few days and only have enough time to jump on and wish you all a safe and happy day!

We are in salt lake city, UT right now, well..just outside of it and have been all over Oregon. We are on our way to Denver, then Michigan, Maryland, IL, PA and hmmmm, I think that's it...

I hope you are all having a relaxing day today - partying with friends and family or just taking the day off.

We are having truck problems today, so we are kinda stuck here for a bit and I will come back online if I can, but I only have five minutes right now before Honey Bear wakes up, and I have to run...

Enjoy your day and will write soon!!

STOP TEXTING AS YOU DRIVE!

Just a side note....out west and in some parts of the Midwest, the speed limit is 75 - first off, keep in mind that trucks can only do 65 PER THE LAW....so stop zooming past them as they are NOT the enemy! Its THE LAW

More importantly, I cant tell you how many people we have seen zoom onto a highway at 75 and texting without even looking for ANY oncoming traffic! And then they feel like its the OTHER drivers fault in a close call, fender bender, accident or worse....DEATH.

Stop texting and driving!!!!!

We didn't text years ago and tell me something, who in the world is worth yours or an innocent persons life???

Was that text message on your phone THAT important and priceless???

Think about it...

Who are the culprits?

The young...in fancy, too expensive cars
and
Moms.....
Yep, 30-40s age looking moms....Who cares about the kid they have in the back seat, zooming onto that interstate at 75 without looking because they are texting puts their very own children at risk...I hope their lives are worth it...if you havent gotten into or caused an accident today, or in the past - trust me, one day it will because you just made that texting a habit....

too sad...

THE Best Cappuccino

I just have to take a moment and tell you, we have found a real great spot for awesome cappuccino! Its a little stand shaped like an old fashioned coffee pot, its so cute! Right here in Arlington, WA....here's their website:
www.hothothotcoolcoolcool.com
I got a very large one for $3.25 (too much, but worth it!)
It has four shots of coffee, had it made with cream, no sweetener and topped with cinnamon...

Just delicious!

So for our readers in Washington, GREAT stuff! This state is beautiful, our favorite right now is Wyoming and Montana and the history of them, and price wise, Washington isn't much different to New York, so we don't have sticker shock, but from other parts of the country, yeah, Washington is pretty high. Not sure how the housing prices go here, but if you want city life with small town people, well, this is the place for you. There was only one stop we had to make here, not too far from this hotel actually, where the guys there were, how should I put it....so full of themselves, that they need to get knocked a peg down or two! And then we had a good laugh because we stopped at a truck stop called Donna's and there was this super clerk there, she did everything, had all the answers, knew everything, etc. Well, there came across an Amber Alert - good - but she told a story to every single customer and acted like SHE were the police regarding it....I mean, sure, its nice that she finds the importance of it, but if she weren't the clerk there, you'd think SHE were the police that put out the alert!

Cute...

Familiar Places - Bad Habits

All bitterness, anger and wrath, insult and slander must be removed from you, along with all wickedness.
Ephesians 4:31, HCSB

Every time you've gone back to your old ways of getting relief or revenge, every time you've reacted without thinking or given in when you should have toughed it out, you've widened the entrance ramp onto the easy street of compromise.
You've made it that much easier to come back for a return trip next time you're worn down and upset -- when things just aren't going your way. That's really what bad habits are -- wide, open highways that you know like the back of your hand. Roads you've traveled so many times that you could drive them with your eyes closed. But you know you have no business being out there. You know you'll eventually dead-end into regrets and apologies.
And if you just had the strength, you'd whip that car around right now and take the straight and narrow path that could lead you to something better.
So do it, because now your "no" has the power of God behind it. And every time you lean hard into His side for the strength to resist, you close another entrance ramp. You shut down another access road. You play dead to the call of the highway. You win over habitual sin.

This Week's Look-Up Verse
Ephesians 4:25-32

I just read a really great post from another blog and MUST share it - Finding Grace

We have all been there, heck....just a year ago, (I even posted this story awhile back), Id walk into the same truck stops as this week, treated SO differently then I am now (then - dirty clothes from working on the truck-AGAIN...today, haircut, dress w/sweatshirt over it, my pink slippers Honey Bear just bought me, and light makeup - don't have to do physical work til tonight)....
I'm still the same person, just different life circumstances - not financially, just different....am I treated better today then a year ago? yep...why?
Judgemental people...we are ALL guilty of this. I am guilty of it. Its been a part of life as we know it...
But, it doesn't have to be.
For myself, seeing as I am guilty as the next guy is, I have decided to work hard on this habit, as that's what it is, a habit I grew up with and at 45, I STILL have it - I have decided to work hard on it by, how? Simple...one simple life lesson we all have learned at least once in our lives - IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY, THEN DON'T SAY ANYTHING.
Yep, that simple. But instead of telling it to someone else, I tell it to myself. Every time a judgemental thought comes to mind, I cut myself off and repeat this sentence. Its become easier and easier now NOT to have a judgemental thought....Try it....most of all, you can read the post I'm referring to here:

Good Friday Morning!

Hi everyone - thank you so much for following us on twitter as well as saving our blog to your blog roll and being subscribers...we really appreciate it AND you!

This morning, I'm writing from Nebraska! We had a stint of warmth and sunshine after 5 pm while in Illinois, but other then that, its been cloudy and/or raining - don't start me yacking about the MONSOON rain we had in Michigan - oh boy, what a downfall! To be honest, that's one thing I miss about living on solid ground in the states...I mean, in New York (not the state, the islands - Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island), we would get rain, yes...but it came and went...you'd occasionally get some great thunder or lightening, but nothing like what I have always been used to (home state is Illinois for me, Honey Bear is a born and raised Bronx boy!). I remember the sky being orange, or green, or the scary BLACK! And the thunder and lightening, when your hair would stand up! How exciting and scary at the same time. Its those little things in life that either I miss the most, or love the most....and this is one of them. I remember when my son was young, I just HAD to get out of the house and after much convincing, got him to come with me to the mall. Half way there, the wind picked up (this is in Illinois), the wind picked up, the sky changed to a funky green and I started to get worried....He convinced ME to turn around LOL! Get this...the road we were on, was tree lined on the left hand side and nothing but fields on the right. By the time I turned the car around and headed back to the house, the leaves were literally stripped from those trees!! I used so much strength to keep the car on the road, that I had to give in and park on the side...he was right in the first place, that day was NOT the day to go to the mall!

Anyway, let me run on over to my emails and see what I can post for you today. this morning, there is an excellent wireless signal, so luck is on our side that I have the Internet....most times at this stop, we don't.

Ok, see you in a bit...
Mar

Oh, ps...did you read my post from yesterday about sharing the road with truckers? if you did, I hope you took it to heart and if you missed it, here's the post:

It is a privilege and a high and holy calling to tend to the practical, physical affairs of your home.

What is Your Talent?

What is Your Talent?
Author: Pastor Chuck

“To one he gave five talents [of money], to another two talents and to another one talent, each according to his ability” - Matthew 25:15 NIV

Seems that some people have all the great imagination, and the rest of us have to work hard at it.

Oh, to be like that classic comedian Red Skelton. Or remember the Walt Disney animators — what creativity! One former Disney illustrator is using his talents for Christian videos (his name is Norm McGary). I have a friend — every thing he says seems to be witty. I asked him if he stays up nights thinking about clever sayings. No, he says, it just comes to him. Then there is another friend who at 12 years old played piano with the Buffalo , NY Philharmonic. Yet, she can play contemporary Christian music with the same ease as a Mozart or Beethoven piece. A young woman with a beautiful voice, crystal clear – what a gift. Perfect pitch! Add to all this, the gifted radio preachers (seems like many of them have the first name “Chuck”, too.) What gifts of story telling, profound biblical insights and clear communication skills?

So many gifted people, so many talented, clever and creative. Why does God pick one over the other? How can one rise to the top while others stay in place?

Moses was hand picked by God. When God wanted to send him to do something significant, he had been lollygagging around the desert for 40 years tending sheep – not a real esteem builder by any means. A contemporary of his had risen to power in political circles, making quite a name. But, Moses? Who was he? 40 years, I imagine, leaves you with a bit of a self-image problem. Certainly, he was not like Pharaoh!

It took a couple of interesting "PowerPoint" presentations to get his attention. A burning bush for one! (Exodus 3:4) Then, with tremendous import, God asks the cowering, sniveling sheep - herder, “What’s in your hand?” (Exodus 4:2). Watch out when God asks a question like that. No amount of paranoid introspection can eclipse God when he begins to show His power. What you have within your ability, within reach may, like Moses’ staff, become something far more than you give credit for. That ordinary shepherd’s staff, at once like a snake, but ever like a scepter, became significant in the hands of a man moved by God.

Moses’ staff in his hand was nothing to write home about. The burning bush wasn’t the center - piece of the local arboretum. But, God can use whatever is in our hands if there is a burning in our hearts. It’s not about what you can do, but about what God can do. Why hold back just because you feel you are just plain “ordinary.” The only question Moses had to answer was, “Am I willing to be used by God with what I have and what I am?” Too many people waste their time worrying about what they are not, rather than offering themselves to God with who they are.

What about you? Can God do anything significant through you? Well, he can’t if you don’t offer yourself to him with your talents and skills (however small you think they may be). But, if you are willing, then like the boy with the few loaves and fish, God can meet the needs of many through you. All He wants is a willing heart. Does He have yours?

Prayer: Father, here are my talents please use them for your glory. In the name of the Lord

I Cry Every Time I Read This One!

Dear God
Author: Bob Perks, (c) 2002 Bob@BobPerks.com
http://www.bobperks.com/

He had never been away from home this long. The trip he was about to take would find him in cities and towns he had never seen and among perfect strangers. In the past, if he would be away for even a night, he would always leave special notes and “I love you” cards for his wife to find.

A “Sleep well, my love and dream about me!” note card would always grace her pillow.“Eat a good meal and be careful driving!” would be tucked into her day planner the night before he left. He would always sign them, “Say a prayer for me! I will love you always, Jim”

You see, each night before going to sleep, Jim and Julie knelt beside their bed and would say their prayers together. This special moment was shared even during those times apart. At a designated time each night they would kneel beside the bed and although in two separate locations would say their prayers out loud.

Because he traveled often, on mostly one night stays, they decided to add a special companion to their family. “Buddy,” was a young mixed breed they rescued from the local dog pound. Bright, spirited and loving, Buddy made those overnights a little easier to take. But Buddy would play a very important role in their lives during this extended time away from home.As usual, the night before he left, Jim wrote and placed his special notes throughout the house. Because of the extended length of time he also managed to mail a few special cards that would arrive almost daily.

On his first day when arriving at the airport, Jim called his wife at work to assure her that he had arrived safely. “I’m fine!” he said. “But I miss you already!” he continued with sadness in his voice.

“I miss you, too! I don’t like that fact that you are so very far away,” Julie told him. “The house will feel so empty without you!”

“Hey, at least you have Buddy!” Jim said laughing. “He has a special present for you. If all goes well, you’ll find out about it tonight when we say our prayers. I need to go now. I still need to drive the rest of the distance to the conference. It’ll take me about four hours to get there. Say a prayer for me, I will always love you!”

It was about 9 p.m. that night and Julie had not yet received a phone call from Jim. He had promised to call when he arrived. At about 9:15 the phone rang.“Julie, this is Tom. I work with your husband.” the voice on the phone said.“Is everything okay?” Julie asked.“Julie, there’s been an accident. I’m with Jim here at the local hospital.” There was a pause. “He’s in bad shape,” Tom said.

“I need to be there!” she immediately responded.“Julie, it would be best if you waited until morning. There is no way to get you here safely.”“Will he be alright?” she asked. There was silence. “Will he be alright?” she shouted.“God will take care of him,” was the reply. He went on to tell her that they had arranged for her to be flown directly to the area first thing in the morning.

As she hung up the phone, the silence was broken by a desperate plea.“Dear God! Help us!” she screamed.Buddy, who had been seated by her side, suddenly ran upstairs. Julie thought that she had frightened him. Glancing at the clock she noticed that it was 10 p.m. their designated time for prayer together. Feeling this to be more important than ever, she ran upstairs to say her prayers for his recovery.

As she entered the room, there along side the bed was Buddy. He was sitting with his head bowed and for as long as he could, he kept raising his right paw. He paused for a moment and looked at her. Wagging his tail he ran over to her barking. Julie took her place kneeling beside the bed.

“Dear God,” she said. Buddy jumped up, ran over next to her, lowered his head and raised his right paw. Baffled by his response she continued her prayers.

As she pleaded for Jim’s life, Julie happened to glance up and there sticking out from under the covers was a note from Jim. It said, “If you said your prayers tonight with me, you might have noticed Buddy. It took a long time, but I taught him to respond to the words “Dear God.” That way you’d never be alone during our special time.” As always he signed it, “Say a prayer for me. I will always love you, Jim.”

Julie turned toward Buddy and once again repeated, “Dear God.” He returned to the same position, peaking up every once in a while looking for the loving approval he always got from Jim. If tears could make rivers, one would have flowed from that room.Julie eventually fell asleep lying on the floor next to Buddy. It was about 6 a.m. when the phone rang awakening her abruptly.

“Julie, this is Tom,” she heard a voice say. “Julie, the doctors say Jim will be okay.

They have no idea how this all turned around so quickly. It’s a miracle!”“Dear God!” she said and Buddy, responding to the words, sat down, lowered his head and raised his right paw.“Amen!”

“O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.” - Psalm 65:2

Consider The Lilies Of The Field

This is one area Honey Bear (male) thinks different then me (female) -- goes to show you that men think so much different then we do and its OUR job to show them daily the lillies of the field (not through nagging, but through appreciation!)

Matthew 6:28–2928
So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

You may think that you must work very hard to provide for yourself and get ahead in life. But God wants you to consider the lilies of the field — they do nothing. They toil not, spin not and struggle not. Yet, they grow and are clothed by God while simply resting and basking in the sunshine of God’s love! And when God clothes them, they look even more glorious than King Solomon, the richest king who ever lived.

Like the lilies of the field, God wants you to let Him take care of providing for your material needs, instead of you striving to do it yourself. When you let go and let Him, you will see Him bless you supernaturally, abundantly and generously!

This is what happened to one of our church members who had been looking for a job. Initially, he received only two calls for interviews after sending out 12 résumés. Refusing to be discouraged, he believed that God wanted to bless him not just with a job, but with a position of influence too.

God was faithful. This church member soon became the business manager of an engineering company even though he had no engineering background. He was offered a very attractive remuneration package and within his first week on the job, was asked to quote on two projects. He knew that this was God’s doing because it was difficult enough just to secure an appointment with contract managers to discuss projects, let alone be asked to quote on not one but two projects. Before long, he was offered the position to run the entire Singapore subsidiary with only one other business development manager. He was then only 25 years old!

My friend, God can do for you what He did for this person. Just believe that if God clothes the lilies and grass of the field, which are here today and gone tomorrow, how much more will He clothe you, His eternal and precious child, with beauty and riches! All He asks is that you cease from your striving, allow Him to take over and just flow with Him!

(Thanks to Joseph Prince Ministries)

NEW! CROCHETING TIPS & TECHNIQUES

Good Thursday Morning!

Hi everyone, well, we are in Illinois this morning and Honey has to get some sleep - what a downpour we hit last night!

Trying to load up in Indiana, there was lightening, thunder, flood warnings and here Honey Bear was DRENCHED from it all...one of the drawbacks of the business.

Speaking of, Id like to get a word out to everyone - PLEASE feel free to email your friends and family:It is ILLEGAL in ALL states to pass a truck on the right hand side - did you know that? If you re one of the jerks that does, STOP IMMEDIATELY! It’s dangerous for the passenger car, its MORE dangerous for the driver of a truck!

Let me tell you something.... pulling out in front of a truck is so not cool!
Going SLOW in front of a truck is so not cool!
But passing on the right hand side of a truck is the WORST!

Ok, so here we are, we haul cars. Yep, those open car hauler trucks, that's what Honey Bear and I do. Its an amazing job, the travel is awesome (cross country), all the new places, people, etc. Its very hard and dirty work, but when you work side by side, its an awesome opportunity and I thank God we are able to do just that. Way back when, I had written on an older site I have about this. You can read my tribute here:
The Real Life A Truck Driver Leads it's only 50 % completed, but well worth the read. I've posted a couple letters from others who appreciated what I've written -- I hope you do too!

I want to spread the word out there, these dangerous habits drivers pick up without one care in the world for the truck driver has got to stop!

*You run late, don't cut in front of a truck driver
*You don't want to wait the MINUTE it takes for a truck driver to shift 13-18 gears (yes, THAT many!!), then you have a control problem, practice patience
*You don't want to keep pace with the speed of traffic, yet you're willing to not move a lane over into the slow lane - out of embarrassment maybe? That’s ego!

The list goes on, what I want to say the most here is this, really check yourself as a driver - do you do these things? If you do, think about that truck driver - just like with every other profession out there, if you stereo type them, you lose out on knowing some really awesome people who are out making a living too! Love your neighbor by putting them first before yourself, which means you think about that truck driver before yourself. And lastly, truck drivers are no different then you or me: they work a job they enjoy, they have to earn a living, they have family who love them and they have to care for - stop this horrible way of driving - make it a goal, a change -- if you're one of these pesky kind of drivers, choose today to not cut off a trucker, or pull out in front of them, and give them enough braking space! Trucks can’t stop the same as cars!!!

Ok, that's my rant this morning - it has to get out there, bring notice to it, spread the word!!

Good Morning!!

Hi friends! Well, today we are coming to you from Michigan...spent WAY too much time in Pennsylvania! We have just come down from the 14 Mile Road area and are on our way down Michigan to Indiana (yes, back track) and on to Illinois (my home state) and then on to Denver, then Washington. Boss man has us going back to Indiana for a terrific load, so..as Honey Bear is sleeping, I have an hour and a half to write to you all...

I have tons of emails to weed through and post for you what great finds, shares, recipes I get...

How is your week going? Anything new and exciting happening in your homes?

I will tell you something, it is a secret I don't want Honey Bear to find out -- but, I have FINALLY figured out the way to a peaceful, peace filled home....Yes, I have posted a lot of relationship shares with you (I love to share more then talk!), and the key is Respect, Keeping your mouth shut (zip your lips every time you feel you want to have your say) and unconditional love, no matter what!

Three easy key steps to say, remember, and tell others how to do, but actually DOING them -- well, that is a different story....One day I will get it down and the next, I flounder in a sea of not...hmmmm, how not to do that, that is the question...

Do you want to know the biggest secret I have learned in my whole 45 years of life and ten years with Honey Bear?

Seriously, its one little phrase, if you cant remember anything else, try to remember this....

ZIP YOUR LIPS or, as another phrase I have grown fond of...
Shut The F*** Up... LOL..yeah, I like the first version myself too!

Its that simple....if you struggle to find peace, make your honey happy, or just want a better home life for you AND your honey....seriously, its just keeping your mouth shut - why? Because no matter what, its what we say, how we say it or fight to have our say that always is the root to our problems with them....Just look at the last argument you had, or disagreement....does it REALLY matter what he did or didn't do? what he said or didn't say? etc???

Bottom line is, if you respect your man, your husband, YOUR honey bear....wouldn't just keeping your mouth shut, showing him respect NO MATTER WHAT HE DOES OR SAYS...no matter how much you disagree with him, etc....no matter what, HIS unhappiness, in every form, IS what you say or how you say it...

This is a VERY shortened version of something I really could sit down with a pot of coffee and share with you, but just take a moment and really think on what Ive said....trust me, putting aside your thoughts of HIM, isn't the argument or disagreement the result of YOUR say???

Think about it...

In the meantime, I will post away for you over the next 1 1/4 hour and hope to spread my friendship with you!!

Talk with you soon,
Mar

Some favorite projects at Craftbits

Some favorite projects at Craftbits
by Shellie (All comments are hers)

Mineral Mud Bath - 20 mins in this bath leaves me feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.
Fizzing Bath Bombs - The very 1st project I added to Craftbits.
Altered Art Junk Bracelet - I really enjoyed making this and it is such a conversation piece. I love wearing it.
Stress Balls - When I was 12 I made 100's of these for my weekly market stall. They sold at $1.50 each.
Bees Wax Tapered Candles - When I was 15, I started a business making these candles and
Bath Salts and selling them to gift shops. Oh the fond memories of earning my own pocket money (I bought a portable CD player with my first check).
Ice Candles - This one is another work related project. It was one of the candles in a Candle Making class I taught to teenagers. I don't think I actually ever want to make another one though.
Wire Dragonfly - I still have these hanging up all over my Craft room. I made heaps in one night. I could do with taking a better photo.
Burp Cloth - Oh how useful these were with my daughter. Very modern style. Love them.
Knitted toilet seat cover - This is so grandma kitsch it makes me laugh every time I see it.
Shabby Chic Scrapbook Album - My very first album I created for my daughter. (I still have not added the photos)
Heavenly Doorknobs - I used to love decoupage, I decoupaged EVERYTHING including my cupboard doorknobs.
Balloon Weights - These are from my actual 21st Birthday. Wow! That was a lifetime ago (I'll confess it - 9 1/2 years ago).
No Sew Baby fleece ball - I am a big fan of NOT sewing and this one is a favorite because it kept my daughter entertained for hours.
Dishcloth Britches - My Grandma showed me this one when I was a child.
Headache Relief Pots - I need these everyday, especially around 4 in the afternoon when tiredness kicks in.
Very Special Box - I remember making this for my mother at primary school. After that I had to make 100's of them to sell on our market stall. I am sure that was child labor.

C.S. Lewis, *Christian Behavior*

"If you have really handed yourself over to Him it must follow that you are trying to obey Him. But trying in a new way, a less worried way. Not doing these things in order to be saved, but because He has begun to save you already. Not hoping to get Heaven as a reward for your actions, but inevitably wanting to act in a certain way because a first faint gleam of Heaven is already inside you."---- C.S. Lewis, *Christian Behavior* (Macmillan, 1943), p.66

Heavenly Father, I ask for Your forgiveness. I come to You humbly to admit that I have been a control freak - so much so that my actions and my words have made it appear to You that You are not enough to take care of my situation. I know that is not the case Lord because Your Word teaches me that nothing is impossible for you, no situation too big, no situation too small. Take this load off my back - help me release the grasp I have on this situation regarding ______________. I pray that Your Will be done. Send the Holy Spirit to sit by my side as I deal with this situation. Lord, I'm afraid to surrender everything to You. But Lord, I put my complete faith in You for all things and I thank You for promising me that, as Your child, if I simply ask for You to slip Your hand in mine...guide me through this situation, helping me to know that the victory is already won - by YOU! In Your name we pray, Amen!

Good morning!!

my first post from on the road - coming to you from New Jersey..

Well, Honey Bear and I are on the road, officially now...we went out to the Hamptons yesterday - pretty area, delicious, but expensive food out there, nice scenery, friendly people...it was nice...not what I THOUGHT it would be, you know...you always hear about The Hamptons on tv or relate it to the rich...its just a nice waterfront, wooded, clean area. And we stopped off at a delicious deli...$37 for two sandwiches, a mozzarella salad, two coffees and a package of croissants....but it was real food, and delicious...

Today, we pick up cars in New Jersey...Honey is in the process of working while I type here. Then off to IL, Detroit, Denver and Washington...

Tonight, we dine at Tony Paco's in Cleveland. I wrote you about that place a while back...its famous for M*A*S*H: remember Klinger from MASH? Well, this is the place he always raved about and the inside is FULL of stars names on hotdog buns (not real ones)...there have been NUMEROUS stars who have eaten at this little hideaway.

If you ever find in the chili aisle of any grocery store a tiny can of hotdog chili from Tony Paco's, BUY IT, you will NOT be disappointed!

Anyway, I am going to peruse my email box for any goodies for you today...Enjoy your day and like I always say, I will post as I can from the road here.

Hugs for your day and ENJOY YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS, every minute you get with them is the best blessings of life!

Today's The Day!

Today is the day Honey Bear brings me and the 'girls' (our pets) with him on the road - YAY!!!!!

I can't wait to see him, it's been 3 1/2 weeks and I sure do miss my Honey Bear.

I have so much to do today, to not forget, to hope for and to put into effect....

Sigh...

I sure wish Honey Bear were here to help me, but God is, that much I know...

Will, like I said, post on the road when I'm able to, so don't unsubscribe or lose us - I just won't be posting as often, that's all -- remember what I always say, Nothing and no one should ever get in the way of your family time, it's all you have and cannot get back!

So, I'm giving myself one hour to do what I want on the Internet, then off I go to get things done!

Much love, hugs and gratitude to everyone! In the future, we WILL do more giveaways and reviews. Please don't forget we have a separate page for our side business, True Taxi and Limo; we have a recipe page where you'll find tons of great stuff to try; and our blog roll..filled with awesome blogs out there!

Your prayers for us are much appreciated and again, thank you for being a friend in our blog...

Soldier's Prayer

How many times have you prayed for something and received something else - and the something else turned out to be exactly what you really needed? I'm reminded of a poem that talks about this very thing. It's called the "Soldier's Prayer":

I asked God for strength so that I might achieve.
I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey.
I asked for health that I might do greater things.
I was given infirmity, that I might do better things.
I asked for riches that I might be happy.
I was given poverty that I might be wise.
I asked for power that I might have the praise of men.
I was given weakness that I might feel the need of God.
I asked for all things that I might enjoy life.
I was given life that I might enjoy all things.
I got nothing that I asked for... but everything I had hoped for.
Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered.
I am among all men most richly blessed."

When you receive surprising answers to your prayers, remember that God wants you to have what you need, which might not necessarily be what you think you want. Praise God for His wisdom in answering your prayers with your best interest in mind.

Bow the Knee Lyrics

I am watching the Sunday TV broadcast of Charles Stanley (Of all the preachers/teachers/pastors, etc. out there, I really respect him alot). They opened this hour with a song called Bow the Knees and let me tell ya, it is a great song!

Here are the lyrics and hopefully, you'll either know the song or find it to listen to:

There are moments on our journey following the Lord
Where God illumines ev’ry step we take.
There are times when circumstances make perfect sense to us,
As we try to understand each move He makes.
When the path grows dim and our questions have no answers, turn to Him.

*Bow the knee;
Trust the heart of your Father when the answer goes beyond what you can see.
Bow the knee;
Lift your eyes toward heaven and believe the One who holds eternity.
And when you don’t understand the purpose of His plan,
In the presence of the King, bow the knee.

There are days when clouds surround us, and the rain begins to fall,
The cold and lonely winds won’t cease to blow.
And there seems to be no reason for the suffering we feel;
We are tempted to believe God does not know.
When the storms arise, don’t forget we live by faith and not by sight.

God Doesn’t Remember How Bad You Were

Hebrews 8:1212 "For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins andtheir lawless deeds I will remember no more.”

Perhaps you have heard people say of others: “Oh, if only you had seen my husband in the early years of our marriage. He had such an explosive temper that I used to seek shelter in my mother’s house!”

“No one would have ever guessed that she had such a promiscuous past.”

“As a young boy, he would always lie through his teeth and not even bat an eyelid!”

Man looks at you and remembers what you were like in the past. But when God looks at you through the new covenant, He declares, “I will be merciful to your unrighteousness, and your sins and lawless deeds I will remember no more.”

He states it plainly in His Word as if to assure us: “When you come to Me, don’t think that I am thinking about your sins. Don’t think that every time I look at you, I am reminded of your sins. Not only am I not keeping a record, but I am also not mindful of your failures and shortcomings. I am telling you that I will remember your sins no more, never again!”

God can say that all our sins He remembers no more because there was a time when He remembered them and punished every one of them — in the body of His Son at the cross. He punished every single one of them until Jesus cried out, “It is finished!” (John 19:30) That is why today, God can justly say, “Your sins I will remember no more.”

We all know that we sin from time to time. But the good news is that all our sins have already been dealt with at the cross. They have been washed away by Jesus’ blood. Now, when we come into God’s presence, He sees us without our sins.

So beloved, forget your past failures. Believe that God remembers your sins no more and be the righteous person that you already are in Christ!

Just A Side Note...

Have you read my review on Jesus Calling? (Located on right side of screen under reviews).

Well, I just wanted to say something extra here.

I've been reading this daily for awhile now and it reminds me of a book that someone gave me once, where it daily had an inspiration about being a Princess in our Father's eyes. This little book has inspired me greatly. I read scripture, I read the day's page and it really helps start my day, really...There's only been one day that my emotions went the wrong way and sure enough, it set my day in the wrong way, BUT...the greatest thing I wanted to share with you is, it made me remember one really big thing...

I'm NOT the bad I feel inside of me when life gets so out of control, I fall, I don't fail...He IS my strength in my weakness....

And let me tell you, truly believing this SETS YOU FREE.....I was able to get through three really trying days, that without this really soaking up in me, would have put me in a self pity hell that I wouldn't be able to see God's ways thoroughly OR appreciate them, because things turned out BETTER with this knowledge in my heart...my faith did NOT falter and that's amazing through those days!

So, seriously, this little book IS a great read, it IS a great gift and it IS a little voice to tuck away in your heart daily...

I hope you truly consider it (I make no money off the review, so this is a sincere post just for you!)

Review - Dove® Visibly Smooth anti-perspirant/deodorant

Can you say AMAZING!? Oh this stuff is GREAT! It gives you what it offers:

"Introducing Dove® Visibly Smooth anti-perspirant/deodorant, a new deodorant that makes underarm hair look and feel less noticeable over time.

Dove® Visibly Smooth anti-perspirant/deodorant combines a unique Pro-Epil™ Complex with natural extracts and Dove 1/4 moisturizers, to help you feel stubble free for longer. Of course, this new product offers the 24 hour odor and wetness protection you’ve come to expect from Dove deodorant.

We want to extend a special invitation to join the Dove® Visibly Smooth
Facebook group. The page will feature weekly contests and foster great conversations with Dove® Visibly Smooth fans as well as beauty, lifestyle, travel, fitness and wedding experts…all sharing beauty advice and tips."

This stuff smells great, is great when you worry about those pesky under-arm hairs peaking through or being visible...

Now me, I am a natural blonde, through and through - actually white, blonde because no one told me that as blondes age, blonde = WHITE....humph....

But, even blondes get BLACK underarm hair - why? I haven't a clue...

I received this new product and I have to admit, it's one of the few out there that delivers what it promises to be...

Hop on over to their website, join their facebook community and even look for coupons for it, you will NOT be disappointed!

Personal Review - Ronzoni Bistro

Anytime you see me attach 'personal' to a review, it is our opinion on something I've bought, not a review from the particular company...

Ronzoni Bistro...I'm disappointed.

I've been carrying around a coupon for buy one, get one free. I've found two stores in our area that sells these and finally braved up buying them, I chose the Linguini with chicken and mushrooms - it LOOKS like chicken tetrazini and I LOVE tetrazini! So, with Honey Bear being on the road, I figured I'd eat something I love, save some money and try something new...

What a HORRIBLE experience!

Mind you, this review is ONLY on the flavor I've posted. Maybe I should have chosen a different flavor. The packages look small, enough to fill a corner of your tummy when you're not terribly hungry, you just want something light. The flavor is just not there. I added a little salt and pepper to try to pick it up, it did, BARELY....the sauce is thick, plenty of noodles, the chicken is dry and the flavor is horrible. If I didn't need to eat it, I would have tossed it or given it to the dog, THAT'S how horrible it tasted.

There is no resemblance to tetrazini, which I admit, the package does NOT promote it to be, but by the looks of the package, you would think it would. It had a 'dead' wine flavor or something off that I can't think of a better word for it...I served it over two pieces of toasted bread for extra filler.

I bought two packages of this flavor, wishing now that I had bought a different flavor as this was simply...yuck!

I'm sending you to their site, as they're offering coupons, promotions, a newsletter and an opportunity to check them out further here: http://ronzonibistro.newworldpasta.com/index.cfm

I'd love to hear if you've tried this and have a different point of view on them. As always, I give HONEST reviews and this is as honest as it comes! LOL!

Seriously, maybe a different flavor would have been better, this flavor was a huge let down and at $2.99 (Pathmark), I really feel it was a waste of money, even at buy one, get one free...
