Victory Article: Take No Offense!

Because I'm going through some super-sensitive times of my life, I am so guilty of taking offense-and often. When I opened my email tonight, this article jumped out at me...guilty as charged...

"Take No Offense." The Holy Spirit spoke this to me about two weeks ago. WOW! I thought, hmmm, and I wasn't even mad at anyone! I also know that when the Holy Spirit speaks, we should listen!

God doesn't want us to take offense or to "get offended" with people when they do something that we don't agree with. People are people, and I honestly believe that for the most part we don't go around intentionally trying to hurt one another. But if someone does intentionally try to hurt you, put up your shield of "not getting offended," (as if to say "no thank you"), but look at that person instead and say to yourself, "they don't have a clue as to what's right." In reality, they don't, or they would never do anything to intentionally hurt you.

Jesus did not take offense against anyone. It would have distracted Him, and He had too much to accomplish. He also knew that when people acted foolish (or contrary to God's Word), they really didn't have a clue as to what they were doing. We also have to be sure not to take offense so as to let it distract us from our focus, or our goals. It's a deception and a hindrance to your progress to get offended at people. It seems logical at times, but what I mean is...get over it quickly. Don't ever let it take root in you. It will steal your joy, peace, and will hinder your progress and distract your focus away from your goals and what you really want to accomplish.

In Luke 23:34, while Jesus hung on the cross, He said: "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do."

Jesus asked God the Father to forgive those people that did Him so wrong, and even crucified Him. He had the understanding that they didn't really know what they were doing. We also need to deal with people in understanding. It's easier said than done sometimes, but if we can keep Jesus at the center of our focus, we can do it. The more we practice, the easier it becomes.

My new book, "IT CAN BE DONE: You Can Live in Victory 24/7" goes into much more detail about this, is very easy to understand and gives you practical steps that you can start to implement immediately!
